Giving

Over the weekend, my father in law had triple bypass surgery. Chris explained to Connor that Pop's heart was hurt and the doctor was going to fix it. So Friday I stayed with the kids while Chris was at the hospital. We decided that Daddy needed lunch, so mom and I loaded up the kids and headed towards Conroe. As we were heading in Connor annouces that he wants to go the bookstore to get dinosaur books. I stpped at Kohl's to get Camryn a shirt and Connor bought me a musical card that he knew Pop's needed to go with the dinosaur book he was going to get him. So I bought the card, and a dinosaur book at the book store. Connor was so excited to give this to Pops. Saturday as Chris was leaving for the hospital, Connor gave Chris an envelope for Pop's. He had made Pops a card and given him a pen.

As I watched my son do this in excitement, it made me think. Chris and I have talked about giving to other people but we had never really "taught" it. I was amazed how Connor did this all on his own without help from us. I was so proud! Connor will give anyhthing to anybody if he thinks that it will make them smile.

The Weekend We had Three

This past weekend(Oct.7-10) we had my niece Kayleigh while my sister and brother-in-law were out of town for a wedding. It was a very interesting few days. Kayleigh loved being at Connor and Beam Beam's house. We spent lots of time playing babies with the girls. Since Connor has soccer Friday night and Saturday, he spent a lot of time with Dad. Chris and I got a kick out of the fighting between the girls. We even managed to take all three kids to the Carnival at Connor's school. Kayleigh loved the fact that she could hand somebody tickets, skip the game and take a handful of "LELE" (candy). Overall the weekend was fun and very tiring for the parents.

Jeremiah 29:11

For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

I know that this is such a poplar verse this time of year. As I was running around this morning trying to get ready for work and the kids to the daycare this verse kept coming to mind.

This year Connor goes to Kindergarten. He is so excited. I have prayed for his teacher, his class and his new friends. Camryn started in the 18 month class at the daycare. Her day is a little busier before. As I look at these changes, I can't help but think about our future.

Only the Lord knows what lies ahead but I truely believe that he will prepare us and carry us. Thank you Lord for my wonderful husband and children.

The kids are loving the water this summer. Camryn is not afraid of the water at all. She loves to be in it. She loves to dunk herself. She comes up laughing. Her brother is a fish in the water. We have a little pool in the backyard andc we can not keep him out of it. We have been swimming with my niece Kayleigh and Ellie and Josh.

Noni and Popi bought the hugest pool according to Connor. It is a 4ft above ground. He loves swimming over there because he can jump off the ladder.

It is a great summer!

This is one proud MOM! I know that it is only Pre-K but I am so proud of how awesome he has done. I am not ready for him to go to school but I will deal with that.

I was truely blessed by his childcare center and teachers there! Ms. Irene was his 3yr old teacher. She rocked! She captured Connor's attention and sparked his curiousity into so many things. Ms. Amanda was his teacher at his old daycare and his Pre-K teacher this year. We were truley blessed to have her. She took Connor's passion for things and carried it to the next level. I am going to miss her!

Kindergarten here we come!

Memorial Day 2010

What a fun day!!! Terry and Connor (aka Nonnie and Poppy) had us over for their annual Memorial Day get together. They had a pool for the kids. Connor stayed in the water most of the day. He got out long enough to have a water balloon fight and to play frisbee with his Dad. Camryn loved the water balloons. Poor Jess was her target however her aim is not that great. She loved it when Jess blew bubbles for her. We are so blessed to have this family! Thank you for a wonderful day!!!

I know that this almost 2 months late but here is a slide show from Camryn's first birthday party. I am having a hard time with her being one. I was not ready for it. She loved her party. She had so much fun with all the kids! She adored getting her own cake to eat.
Since her birthday she has started walking and talking. She is clearly saying Momma and Dadda. A few times she has tried Connor but we get nonnor. She is wanting to play with her big brother more.

She will always be my little girl who smiles so big when I get her up in the mornings. I am so thankful the good Lord sent her to us!
I love you Camryn Jean!

Savanna Holekamp

Not long ago my announced the arrival of their second baby. I was so excited about Camryn and Baby Holekamp would be so close in age. As the months went by and we began talking about the baby and what we thought it would be. I was secrectly wishing for a boy. On Feb. 3, I picked up Kayleigh and brought her to my house to plauy with Nonnor(aka Connor) and the Baby (aka Camryn). Brandy had a doctor's appointment to find out the sex of the baby. We waited for what seemed like forever. There was a knock at my door. There was my sister and her husband with very sad facial expressions. Brandy asked me to please pray for her baby that something was wrong. The Doctor told them that they would see a specialist the very next day. Thursday, Feb. 4 Brandy and Wesley found out that the baby would not make it. They decided to carry the baby until the Lord was ready to take it. Brandy told me that she was at peace knowing where her baby was going. The next 3 weeks for horrible for me. I needed to do something for Brandy. What? I had no idea. I could see that she was hurting but nobody could take that pain from her. On Feb. 24 there was not a heartbeat at the ultrasound. Brandy was admitted to the hospital the next morning to begin labor and delivery. I sat with her for awhile on Thursday. She was in such good spirits. She had a few moments but her faith jsut amazed me. At 1:30am, Friday morning Savanna was born. Although she was already in heaven, Brandy did get to hold her.
I never met Savanna but in my heart she is the most beautiful baby girl. She is in heaven playing and waiting to meet us all. Connor recently asked me if Jesus would let Savanna come back. It was so hard telling him no but that one day we would see her and he could be the favorite cousin.

I love my niece and can't wait to meet her one day.

I also write this because I am so proud fo my sister. She is such an amazing lady. She has allowed God to lead her through this time and has accepted his help in getting through it. I love you Brandy!

Valentines

Valentine's with kids makes Valentine's even better. Connor's excitement with Daddy's cookie delivery and Mommy's beatuiful roses delivery. Camryn loved her dancing and singing dog. She just laughs at it. Connor's explaination of Valentine's is the day that you tell people that you love them.
